ROD WELLINGTON IN HIS COMFORT ZONE Shaun Howe takes out the State Pro Junior & Leah Wright is crowned Open Women's Champion in Geraldton Coolangatta, QLD; (Wednesday, February 27th): Leon Norris (Geraldton, WA) was honoured at the 23rd annual Australian Surfing Awards at Twin Town Services Club in Coolangatta with the Duke Kahanamoku Award for his enormous services to Surfing Australia and the sport of surfing. Norris, from Geraldton Western Australia, is a founding member of Geraldton Board Riders Club. The Duke Kahanamoku Award acknowledges an outstanding contribution to surfing at Local, State, National and International level combined with exceptional surfing administration skills that have contributed to the development of the sport of surfing in Australia. Updated: July 4th, 7:00am Dawn Patrol: Clean conditions with a light 7 knot Easterly. Swell has dipped to .75m with 11 second peak periods and waves are in the 2ft range. Small wave locations are the best option from mid-morning on as the tide moves out. High tide is 1m @ 7.15am then out all day to .4m @ 5.30pm. Air temp is up to 22 today and the ocean is just under 19. Offshore again on Sunday with the chance of a small pulse. GBR double points comp is on Sunday July 19th.
