Duke Kahanamoku Award Winner - Leon Norris

Coolangatta, QLD; (Wednesday, February 27th): Leon Norris (Geraldton, WA) was honoured at the 23rd annual Australian Surfing Awards at Twin Town Services Club in Coolangatta with the Duke Kahanamoku Award for his enormous services to Surfing Australia and the sport of surfing. Norris, from Geraldton Western Australia, is a founding member of Geraldton Board Riders Club. The Duke Kahanamoku Award acknowledges an outstanding contribution to surfing at Local, State, National and International level combined with exceptional surfing administration skills that have contributed to the development of the sport of surfing in Australia.

Good small swell today around 1 metre. Wind is from the ENE at 6 knots and waves are looking nice and clean.

Small wave locations are the call today with local waves mainly waist high and the small wave spots offering chest high waves.

Wind should hang in until close to mid-day.

Tide is .75m @ 7am, out to .25m by 3pm. Air temp max 19, ocean 18.5. Similar for Sunday.

GBR Grand Final today, meet at Flat Rocks 7am, possibly Head Butts.
