Duke Kahanamoku Award Winner - Leon Norris

Coolangatta, QLD; (Wednesday, February 27th): Leon Norris (Geraldton, WA) was honoured at the 23rd annual Australian Surfing Awards at Twin Town Services Club in Coolangatta with the Duke Kahanamoku Award for his enormous services to Surfing Australia and the sport of surfing. Norris, from Geraldton Western Australia, is a founding member of Geraldton Board Riders Club. The Duke Kahanamoku Award acknowledges an outstanding contribution to surfing at Local, State, National and International level combined with exceptional surfing administration skills that have contributed to the development of the sport of surfing in Australia.

Flat Rocks Viewing Platform Progress

The Flat Rocks Viewing Platform is a combined project through GBR, Coastcare and the Greenough Shire and it is complete!

A light Westerly early today forecast to move NW during the morning.

Swell has improved to 1 metre providing average waist high waves on the beach breaks. It may be onshore but at least it's only light and there is just enough swell to keep occupied.

Tide is .35m at 11.30am and in to .65m at 8.30pm. Air temp is heading for 24 and te water is now 22.

Similar conditions for Saturday and Sunday.
