Duke Kahanamoku Award Winner - Leon Norris

Coolangatta, QLD; (Wednesday, February 27th): Leon Norris (Geraldton, WA) was honoured at the 23rd annual Australian Surfing Awards at Twin Town Services Club in Coolangatta with the Duke Kahanamoku Award for his enormous services to Surfing Australia and the sport of surfing. Norris, from Geraldton Western Australia, is a founding member of Geraldton Board Riders Club. The Duke Kahanamoku Award acknowledges an outstanding contribution to surfing at Local, State, National and International level combined with exceptional surfing administration skills that have contributed to the development of the sport of surfing in Australia.

The Flat Rocks Viewing Platform is a combined project through GBR, Coastcare and the Greenough Shire and it is complete!

Dawn Patrol:  A very slight bump in the swell to .6m.

Nothing worth surfing today with only knee high waves at Back Beach.

Wind is around to the SW at 6 knots.

Tide is moving in steadily from .35m @ 7am to .86m @ 6.30pm. Air temp max is 28 and the ocean 25.

No swell on the horizon for at least the next couple of days.
